Atlanta, Georgia- July 2012

We "convinced" grandpa to take us to Atlanta by informing him that Evan had never been to an MLB game (although it didn't take much to talk grandpa into going to a Braves game)! Aunt Karen and Samantha also tagged along. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency. We toured the Coca-Cola factory and museum. We went to the Georgia Aquarium (one of our favorite aquariums), where they have one of the few whale sharks in captivity. We shopped in the Underground Mall.
The game was the Braves versus the Chicago Cubs (Evan's team at the time). We got to stand at the location of home plate (in the parking lot of Turner Field) when Hank Aaron hit his record breaking home run. Grandpa seemed to have bad luck when attending Braves games in person (one time the stadium caught fire when he was there). This time was no exception! We suffered through monsoon-like rains! We all had to buy ponchos, and we were still drenched! The field looked like it was turning into a lake! The curse must be losing its charm though, because the Braves won! We also got to see Chipper Jones go 5 for 5 at bats (only the third time he ever did so).
By the end of our fun-filled weekend, we were getting slap happy for the drive home. Grandpa had to suffer through Samantha's singing and her talking about "rain getting in her hole...her poncho hole".
