This was a work trip without Evan 😞 Annette offered to take me to the LA Fashion Market. We had one day for fun, and the other four days were for work! We stayed at the famous Biltmore Hotel. I was excited to learn just how many things were filmed here such as Cruel Intentions, New Girl, Castle, Pretty in Pink, and Ghostbusters. The hotel was right along Pershing Square and not too far from Skid Row.
The fashion market was so neat! The reps for different companies would present their products to us as we sat in their booths. We would tell them what products we wanted and how many and what sizes. We mostly saw the companies we already knew, but we got to see some new companies too! Of course, some of the clothes I got to 'model' for Annette to decide what she liked and didn't like. It was such a unique experience!
While traveling around the brief parts of the city, we saw the Staples Center and The Grammy Museum. For our fun day, we took a tour of Warner Brothers Studio. I was so excited! We got to see buildings with plaques of each movie that was filmed inside each one. We passed the sign for the Friends soundstage, but unfortunately, it was under construction while we were there. We did get to sit in the audience for the Big Bang Theory and Two Broke Girls soundstage! It was so cool to see the Big Bang Theory apartments firsthand! We also saw all of the casts' parking spots outside the building. We toured one building that Evan was disappointed he missed out on. The second floor was entirely props from the Harry Potter films. The entire first floor were props from the different Batman movies! There was even a separate building full of all of the Batmobiles used for the films! Everything on the studio tour was decorated for Pretty Little Liars, which they were currently filming. I got to sit in Ezra's coffee shop! We saw famous scenes from Friends ('Central Park' and where Ross gets hit with a water balloon), Spider-Man (where Mary Jane kisses Spider-Man), Batman (where he has his battle with Mr. Freeze), and the Seaver home from Growing Pains (also used on Pretty Little Liars).
After this tour, we also visited City Walk at Universal Studios. I loved visiting the different shops and restaurants! We also ate at a few fancy restaurants in the city, including the Water Grill. We got to see filming being done outside the restaurant while we ate!
Sadly, this was all of the city we got to explore. This is definitely on my return list to visit the rest of the city and with Evan this time!
