Pensacola, Florida- May 4-8, 2017

This trip started a little deceptively. Haha! Grandpa asked me, "Do you want to go with me and grandma to meet Aaron for a Braves game?" (Aaron was living in Pensacola at the time). Logically, I think that Aaron will be driving north as we drive south to meet at Atlanta. Oh, how I was mistaken! The trip ended up including me, grandpa, grandma, Aaron, Aunt Karen, mom, Samantha, Andrew, and Sally. And stick with me for the crazy route we took!

The drive down was full of lots of love and lots of arguments about the best directions to Pensacola (yes, that was our first stop). I threatened Aunt Karen with a foley catheter because of her giant cups of water and frequent bathroom breaks. We ended up making it to Aaron's place at The Portofino without any casualties!

The water was so cold and it was chilly, but Samantha and I couldn't resist getting at least our feet wet! Something brushed up against us in the water, but nobody believed us! We all went to Lambert's Cafe in Foley, AL for lunch. Aaron, Samantha, and I spent a day inland to visit some comic book stores. I ended up buying a Nintendo to play Duck Hunt (We found out that sadly, this game won't work on modern tvs).

The next day, grandpa, grandma, me, and Aaron headed north towards Atlanta. Since it was Star Wars night, I brought along my lightsabers! We got to walk through the museum section of the ballpark before the game. We ended up being surprised by a visit from Andrew and Sally (although they were there to see the St. Louis Cardinals). We stayed the night in Atlanta and headed back towards Pensacola the next morning.

The next day we spent walking around Pensacola to take in the sites. We ate at a really cool beach-front restaurant where we got the biggest stack of onion rings I've ever seen! We had so many leftovers! Everyone else spent the night relaxing while mom, Samantha, and I stayed to walk, shop, and play some mini-golf. We took the shuttle back to Aaron's place. Aaron and I took my lightsabers out on the beach for a battle in the dark. He recorded it with his drone (although he has never given me any copies of it).

The next morning we were packed and on the road at 0600 exactly (I made sure of it) to head towards home! Tensions were definitely high with so many different people on this trip and so much driving in such a short time span, but that's what family is for! We made many good memories and added another adventure to the list!
